A winning product is the one that keeps selling this week, not the one with the biggest lifetime number. In the catalogs Ecom Magic's spy tools track (cutoff October 5, 2026), the top 1% of TikTok Shop US products take 19.6% of the month's units, and of the top 100 sellers only 9 are still speeding up.

Winning dropshipping products are the ones still selling the week you look at them, at a price that leaves you margin after shipping, returns and ads. Not the all-time bestseller, and not the item on a course's list. This report measures that with the catalogs our product spy tools track on TikTok Shop, Amazon and AliExpress, with a cutoff of October 5, 2026.
What makes a dropshipping product a winner?
A winner is a product with sales in the last 30 days, a last week at least as fast as the monthly average, and a price that works in your market after every per-order cost. That gives three signals you can measure: how much it sells in 30 days, whether the last week runs faster or slower than the rest of the month, and what it sells for.
The first two come from the marketplaces; the third you decide with your own costs. The data below is aggregated from public product listings, not from our users. If you want the bigger picture of what AI does and doesn't do in this business, start with our AI dropshipping guide; this page is only about picking the product.
Which categories sell the most on TikTok Shop right now?
In the United States, beauty leads with 27.7% of units sold in 30 days; in Mexico, women's clothing leads with 28.3%. The sample is 7,481 US products (14.06 million units) and 3,920 Mexican products (1.72 million units), all with sales in the last 30 days and updated in the last 14.
| Category | US: share of units | Mexico: share of units |
|---|---|---|
| Beauty and personal care | 27.7% | 15.8% |
| Health and wellness | 13.1% | 3.0% |
| Women's clothing | 11.1% | 28.3% |
| Home and cleaning | 10.6% | 11.5% |
| Electronics and accessories | 7.5% | 8.9% |
| Fashion accessories | 6.1% | 16.4% |
| Car accessories | 5.6% | 5.5% |
| Shoes | 4.8% | 1.7% |
| Sports and outdoors | 4.1% | 1.3% |
| Toys | 2.9% | 1.1% |
| Pets | 1.8% | 1.2% |
Two useful readings. First: the same niche doesn't perform the same in every country; health carries four times the weight in the US that it does in Mexico. Second: pets are 6.0% of the US products we track but only 1.8% of the units (in Mexico, 7.2% against 1.2%). Lots of options, little volume per product.
Is the product at the top of the ranking still going up?
Rarely. Of the 100 best-selling products of the month on TikTok Shop US, only 9 sell faster this week than their monthly average and 12 are already cooling down; the group's median runs at an even pace. In Mexico, 15 speed up and 15 cool down.

To measure it, we compare daily sales over the last 7 days with the daily average of the last 30. If the week runs 1.5 times faster or more, the product is speeding up; if it runs at two thirds or less, it's cooling down. Only products with at least 100 units a month count.
| Pace of the last week | US (5,426 products) | Mexico (1,812 products) |
|---|---|---|
| Speeding up (1.5x or more) | 24.3% | 23.3% |
| Even pace | 63.9% | 62.7% |
| Cooling down (two thirds or less) | 11.7% | 13.9% |
| Sold almost everything this week (new product) | 2.7% | 2.9% |
The practical takeaway: the product that is speeding up is usually further down the ranking, not in first place. If you only look at the month's top, you see products that already had their run.
Which categories have the most products speeding up? In the US, men's clothing (32.0%), home (31.2%), fashion accessories (30.9%) and toys (30.1%) lead. At the other end sits health: second in volume, but only 13.9% of its products speed up. It sells a lot, and steadily: it's also the category least likely to cool down (7.6%).
How concentrated are sales in a few products?
Very. On TikTok Shop US, the top 1% of products takes 19.6% of the month's units and the top 10% takes 58.8%. In Mexico the concentration is even higher: 21.6% and 64.2%.
The typical product sells much less than rankings suggest. The median is 537 units a month in the US and 80 in Mexico. If your plan depends on selling thousands of units a month with one product, you are betting on being in that 1%.
What do best-sellers cost on each platform?
It depends on the platform, and the gap is wide. On TikTok Shop US the median price of the top 500 is USD 33.74; on Amazon US, USD 13.97; on AliExpress US, USD 1.33. On Amazon and AliExpress the best-sellers are cheaper than the rest of the catalog; on TikTok Shop, slightly more expensive.
| Platform and country | Median price, top 500 | Median of the rest of the catalog |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok Shop US | USD 33.74 | USD 30.85 |
| Amazon US | USD 13.97 | USD 19.99 |
| Amazon Mexico | MXN 208.75 | MXN 298.99 |
| Amazon Spain | EUR 13.19 | EUR 15.99 |
| AliExpress US | USD 1.33 | USD 3.66 |
| AliExpress Spain | EUR 4.30 | EUR 7.25 |
Among the top 500 on TikTok Shop US, 74% cost between USD 10 and 50; only 1.4% cost under USD 10 and 8.2% go above USD 100.
The AliExpress price is not your selling price. A two-dollar product still has to absorb shipping, payment fees, refunds and ad cost in your market. Our is AI dropshipping worth it breakdown shows a USD 12 product needing a USD 43.99 price for a prepaid US store; run your own numbers in the Price Calculator before you fall for a cheap item.
Is a TikTok Shop winner also a winner on Amazon or AliExpress?
Rarely. Of the 500 best-selling products of the month on TikTok Shop US, only 48 (9.6%) have a near-identical title among the products with sales we track on Amazon US, 33 (6.6%) on AliExpress US, and just 8 (1.6%) on all three platforms.

We checked 25 matches on each side by hand. On Amazon, 17 of 25 were the same product from the same brand: brands that sell on both channels. On AliExpress almost all were a generic version of the same type of product (a car phone mount, a portable fan, solar lights), not the same item.
Our reading: each platform rewards a different kind of product. TikTok Shop rewards what can be demonstrated on video; Amazon, what people already search for by name; AliExpress, what is cheap. A product type that shows up on two of them has demand proven two ways, and deserves a closer look.
What do Amazon's best-sellers in Mexico and Spain show?
That demand sits in beauty and health, and that Amazon itself usually sells those products. In Mexico, beauty adds up to 30.3% of the month's units among the products we track; in Spain, health and personal care (17.2%) and beauty (15.8%) lead.
| Category | Amazon Mexico | Amazon Spain |
|---|---|---|
| Beauty | 30.3% | 15.8% |
| Health and personal care | 16.3% | 17.2% |
| Food | 9.8% | 9.5% |
| Kitchen | 7.8% | 6.7% |
| Electronics | 6.7% | 4.8% |
For 158 of the top 200 products on Amazon Mexico, the seller is Amazon itself; in Spain, 122 of 200; in the US, 150 of 200. They are well-known brands and everyday goods (sunscreen, toilet paper, creatine). Use them to see what need people pay for, not to copy the product: competing on price with Amazon itself rarely leaves a margin.
Does "10,000+ sold" on AliExpress help you choose?
Not much, because it's the lifetime total. We compared 5,188 AliExpress US products with one snapshot from early August and another from late September to October 5: of the 2,503 that already showed 10,000 or more sold, only 5.4% moved up to the next tier in about two months (in Spain, 3.3% of 2,366).
Across the whole group, 15.3% moved up a tier in the US and 13.3% in Spain. An honest caveat: AliExpress shows rounded figures (10,000+, 100,000+), so reaching the next tier takes a lot of new sales. Still, the signal is clear: the big number says the product sold, not that it still sells.
Why do we compare units instead of revenue?
Because revenue figures from these sources aren't accounting numbers. On TikTok Shop we found placeholder prices (4 US products at exactly USD 999 and 75 above USD 300) and, in Mexico, peso prices labeled as dollars. Multiplying those prices by units produces revenue that doesn't exist.
Each platform also defines its numbers its own way. TikTok, for example, defines its shop's gross revenue as what the customer pays plus platform discounts, minus taxes (TikTok Ads help): it isn't what the seller keeps. Amazon publishes last month's sales rounded ("1K+", "10K+"). So we use estimated revenue only to compare products with each other, never as a business figure.
How do you find winning products with AI, step by step?
AI helps you sort data and produce faster; deciding what to test is still your call. This process works with any tool, using the data above:
- Filter by pace, not totals. Look for products with sales in the last 30 days whose last week runs faster than the monthly average, and drop the ones cooling down.
- Confirm demand on another platform. If the same type of product sells on TikTok Shop and on Amazon or AliExpress, demand doesn't hang on a single video.
- Check who sells it. If Amazon or a well-known brand sells it on Amazon, find another angle or a similar unbranded product.
- Calculate the price you need with your cost, your shipping and a realistic refund or return assumption. If that price isn't believable next to what you saw on the marketplaces, change products. If you sell cash on delivery, our guide to dropshipping in Colombia shows how much shipping and returns weigh.
- Research the product and its buyer with AI: why people buy it, what objections they have, which sales angles to use.
- Produce the ads and the page, review everything by hand and test with a small budget. The market decides; AI only gets you to that test sooner. For cash on delivery, the COD dropshipping landing page guide covers which sections and button to use.

A general assistant like ChatGPT can help with steps 5 and 6, but it doesn't know each marketplace product's 7- and 30-day sales unless you give them to it. A "winning products" list written by a model without fresh data is an opinion, not a signal.
What do Ecom Magic's product spy tools cover, and what do they cost?
Ecom Magic AI has three winning product research tools, with the same data this report uses:
- TikTok Shop Spy: Top Sellers by category, sortable by revenue or units and by period (all time, 30 days or 7 days); product search with 7- and 30-day sales and revenue; and for each product, the videos that drove sales and the creators who promoted it.
- Amazon Spy: Top Products in 19 categories, search, Top Brands and each product's sellers, in the US, Mexico and Spain. It shows sales as Amazon publishes them, rounded.
- AliExpress Spy: Top Products in 32 categories and search, in the US and Spain, with the month-over-month trend we build by saving a daily snapshot of each product.
Searches are included in every monthly plan (no credits used), from Basic at USD 39 a month, with a daily search limit per tool that depends on the plan (on Basic, 20 TikTok Shop searches a day). On Prepaid each search costs 1 credit and has no daily limit; browsing Top Products, categories and brands costs nothing on any plan. The trial gets 3 searches per spy tool for the whole trial, paid with trial credits. After that, Product Research costs 3 or 6 credits depending on the model, and each ad from the AI ad generator or section from the Landing Generator costs 1 credit.
When are Ecom Magic's spy tools not what you need?
They aren't the best option if:
- You need data from Etsy, Walmart, Shopee, Temu or Mercado Libre: we don't cover them.
- You sell in a country where we don't track TikTok Shop: today our catalog has enough data for the US, Mexico, the UK and Brazil.
- You're looking for suppliers, wholesale prices or shipping times: the spy tools show what sells, not who ships it to you.
- You expect the tool to tell you which product will sell in your store: they show signals; the ad test is still yours.
The full tool list is on the features page.
How was this data measured?
Source: product catalogs that Ecom Magic's spy tools store from TikTok Shop, Amazon and AliExpress, read in read-only mode on October 5, 2026 (Colombia time). Only aggregated data from public products; no user data.
- TikTok Shop: products updated in the last 14 days with sales in 30 days (US 7,481, Mexico 3,920). 7- and 30-day units as reported by the source. Our system builds the catalog by rotating searches by category, so it's a wide sample, not all of TikTok Shop.
- Amazon: non-sponsored products updated in the last 30 days with published sales (US 5,043, Mexico 2,088, Spain 1,447). Last month's sales, rounded by Amazon.
- AliExpress: products with published sales (US 94,933, Spain 57,033), lifetime total. The movement compares the first daily snapshot between August 4 and 12 with the last one between September 22 and October 5.
- Cross-platform matches: title word comparison (at least 40% of words in common, ignoring bracketed brands and generic words), with 25 cases per platform checked by hand. It's approximate: it can miss products with very different titles.
Check the signal before you make the ads
If you want to run this same analysis on your niches, the TikTok Shop, Amazon and AliExpress spy tools are included in every monthly plan, and the free trial gives you 3 searches in each (paid with your 10 trial credits). Create your account and look at last week's pace before you pick your next product.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if a dropshipping product is a winner?
Look at three signals: sales in the last 30 days (not just lifetime), a last week running at least as fast as the monthly average, and a price that leaves you margin in your market after shipping, refunds and ads. On TikTok Shop US, 24.3% of products with at least 100 sales a month are speeding up and 11.7% are already cooling down (cutoff October 5, 2026).
What sells the most on TikTok Shop US right now?
By category, beauty and personal care lead with 27.7% of the units sold in 30 days, followed by health and wellness (13.1%), women's clothing (11.1%) and home and cleaning (10.6%). It's a sample of 7,481 products we track with a cutoff of October 5, 2026, not the platform's total.
Are AliExpress best-sellers good dropshipping products?
They show what kind of product has demand, not whether it still sells: AliExpress shows the lifetime total. Of the AliExpress US products that already showed 10,000 or more sold in early August, only 5.4% moved up to the next tier in about two months. And their price isn't your price: your product still has to absorb shipping, fees, refunds and ad cost.
Can AI find winning products for me?
It can sort data and speed up research, ads and the product page, but it doesn't decide what sells in your store. A general assistant without fresh sales data only gives opinions; the signals come from 7- and 30-day marketplace sales, and the confirmation comes from your own ad test.
How much do Ecom Magic's product spy tools cost?
TikTok Shop Spy, Amazon Spy and AliExpress Spy are included in every monthly plan (no credits used; from Basic at USD 39), with a daily search limit per tool that depends on the plan. On Prepaid each search costs 1 credit, and the trial includes 3 searches per tool, paid with trial credits.
